💬Training Course "Boardlab"
📍Moclín, Spain 🗓️ 22/04 - 28/04/2025
We dropped everything and went to Spain for a training course to learn how to design educational board games! 🎲🌍
From April 22nd to 28th, our team - Maja, Nikola, Wiktoria, and Szymon - represented Worth Attention Association during the "Boardlab" project, which took place in the picturesque town of Moclín in southern Spain 🇪🇸.
The project brought together participants from Spain, Romania, Italy, France, and Poland. The main goal was to explore how games can support learning and help develop important skills.
What happened during the project?
🧩 we tested games with different mechanics and educational purposes
🎲 we created our own board games in international teams
🌍 we shared culture, food, dances, and personal stories
🥾 we went hiking and explored the local area
🧠 we learned about learning styles and what makes learning through play truly effective
Goals and objectives of the project:
The project was organized by the Spanish organization EUducate and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Its main goal was to provide young leaders and educators with tools and knowledge to design and use games in education. Participants developed skills in:
🎯 applying gamification strategies
🎲 planning and creating board games
🤝 teamwork and creative collaboration
🛠️ testing and improving their own projects
💡 entrepreneurial thinking in education
🚀 using innovation in non-formal learning
💬 What did the participants say? “It was my first project, but I already know it will have a special place in my heart. The location, the people, and the long, honest late-night talks will stay with me for a long time.”
“Even though board games weren't my passion, the way we were learning gave them new meaning for me. While creating our own game, I felt like a child again – with an open mind and endless imagination.” “I was really impressed by how many participants were truly engaged and passionate about the topic. It motivated me to explore new areas of youth work.”
“Now I know this won’t be my last exchange. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience something so special.”
